South Africa will welcome Australia for a ground-breaking maiden multi-format home tour in March and April 2027, Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed on Monday following a calendar reshuffle triggered by the newly scheduled ICC Women’s Champions Trophy.
The high-profile bilateral showdown was shifted to 24 March – 18 April 2027 to accommodate the inaugural global showpiece in February. The blockbuster tour features three T20 Internationals, three One-Day Internationals, and a historic standalone four-day Test.
The action begins under lights with the shortest format, taking the world champions through Kimberley (24 March), Benoni (27 March), and Potchefstroom (30 March).
Focus then switches to the 50-over arena, where critical ICC Women’s Championship points will be on the line as part of the pathway towards the 2029 World Cup.
The ODI series opens on Saturday, 3 April at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead in Durban, which will stage the sixth edition of the Black Day ODI – a marquee fixture dedicated to raising awareness and fighting gender-based violence in South Africa. The series will conclude with stops at Boland Park in Paarl on 7 April and Dafabet St George’s Park in Gqeberha on 10 April.
The tour wraps up with a historic showpiece: the one-off Advtech Test from 15 to 18 April at Buffalo Park in East London (KuGompo City), marking the first time the venue has ever hosted a women’s red-ball international, as well as the first meeting between the two nations in the format on South African soil.
"Hosting a heralded team like Australia will always be a special occasion, let alone doing so for the first time," said CSA chief executive Pholetsi Moseki.
"We are very appreciative of the work put in by both Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia to ensure the tour’s new dates were confirmed following the scheduling of the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy.

"This is an exciting opportunity for fans across South Africa to get behind the Proteas as they take on the defending T20 World Cup champions at seven venues nationwide. The tour builds towards a historic finale in KuGompo City with the first women’s Test between South Africa and Australia on South African soil."
Moseki also emphasised the societal significance of the Durban encounter.
"Another significant aspect of Australia’s tour is the opportunity to deliver our sixth edition of the Black Day ODI, reaffirming our commitment to stopping the scourge of gender-based violence in our beloved country," Moseki added. "Having the Aussies involved in this important cause can only help strengthen our message."
Tickets across all seven fixtures have gone on sale via the official CSA portal.
