David Raya reveals his next destination after leaving Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has revealed that he would love to play in Spain’s La Liga before bringing his professional football career to an end.

The Spanish international, who has being regarded as one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers, made the revelation during an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca.

He said,

“I would love to try La Liga. For now, I am very happy here at Arsenal, but I would certainly like to experience the Spanish league."

The 31-year-old added that he would welcome the opportunity to represent a Spanish club in the future, describing La Liga as a highly competitive league. Despite expressing his desire to return to his homeland, Raya stressed that he remains happy at Arsenal and has no immediate plans to leave the North London club.

Raya joined Arsenal from Brentford in 2023, initially on loan, before making the move permanent in 2024. His current contract runs until June 2028. Although he did not name a specific club as his next destination, his comments have sparked speculation about a possible future move to Spain, with Real Madrid among the clubs that could attract attention given his childhood support for the Spanish giants.

Raya remains focused on his responsibilities at Arsenal, while leaving the door open to experiencing Spanish football before retirement.
