Australia star Mitchell Starc reclaims ICC Test bowling top spot from Jansen

Australia seamer Mitchell Starc has returned to the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings after reclaiming his spot from Proteas all-rounder Marco Jansen.

Australia star Mitchell Starc reclaims ICC Test bowling top spot from Jansen

Starc starred with the ball for the Aussies in their series defeat to South Africa, including a nine-wicket haul in the last match after taking six-wickets.

He replaces Jansen at the top of the red ball charts after the latter took only three wickets in the decisive third Test in Cape Town, who had only just recently overtaken Starc after his sterling second Test performance in Gqeberha.

Meanwhile, Proteas third Test hero spinner Simon Harmer makes the biggest jump on the charts, moving up nine positions into seventh position on the red-ball standings, one spot above Kagiso Rabada.

In the all-rounder rankings, Jansen retains top spot in the longer format following his important first innings knock of 52 at Newlands, while teammates Wiaan Mulder [third] and Harmer [fifth] also move up the charts.

England star Harry Brook remains the number one Test batsman while teammate Joe Root [second] and Australia's Travis Head [third] eclipse South Africa's captain Temba Bavuma, who moves to fourth spot.
