The Hovsan Competition Complex in Baku, Azerbaijan geared up to host the second matchweek fixtures in Group K of the FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival where Indian U15 team led by Bibiano Fernandes locked horns with Cameroon U15.

India today were up against Les Lionceaux Indomptables. The African giants were coming after a big win over Senegal in the last game and tonight, it was a top of the table clash between the two sides.

India, on the other hand were coming off a win over Laos in the first matchweek. The Blue Colts opened the scoring early in the first half to go 1-0 up before doubling their advantage to go 2-0 and Cameroon fought back later in the game to pull one goal back.

Taking a look at the other results in Group K, Senegal won against Grenada 6-1 whereas Bahrain and Laos played out a thrilling 1-1 draw.

The win takes India to the top of the table with six points. They are the only team in the group so far with 100% accuracy. Senegal’s 6-1 win over Grenada has taken them to the third spot over Cameroon.

Apart from India, Bahrain also remain unbeaten after playing out a draw against Laos tonight.

India have another fixture today against Grenada. A win in that game will solidify India’s stakes in the top spot and qualify for Tier A. India will play two deciding fixtures against Bahrain and Senegal to determine the fate of the game.

Overall, it has been a fantastic start for Bibiano’s boys and the Blue Colts must leave no stone unturned to get the maximum points from the remaining three games to qualify for Tier A.
