ALAN SHEARER has suggested that Jack Grealish shares traits with Paul Gascoigne following the “loveable rogue’s” exclusion from the Everton squad.
The Newcastle icon Shearer weighed in on Grealish’s predicament after the player found himself in trouble with manager David Moyes.
The troubled winger, 31, has not appeared for the Toffees since their loss to Chelsea on October 17.
Moyes decided to take action after Grealish breached disciplinary protocols, and he has not been included in the squad for either of their latest matches against Newcastle.
He will also miss Everton’s home game against Coventry on Friday night.
Reports indicate that Grealish failed to attend a scheduled training session without authorization, which led to the club’s disciplinary action against the former Aston Villa captain.

Subsequently, SunSport reported that Grealish had enjoyed two nights out in London and Cheshire leading up to his disciplinary action.
Shearer mentioned that the on-loan Man City star had a “Gazza stroke” due to his “loveable rogue” nature.
He expressed confidence in Grealish’s talent, stating there is still time for him to regain Moyes’ trust.
Speaking to Betfair, he stated: “[Grealish] is a talented maverick. I’m not saying he’s comparable to Gazza, but he possesses a Gazza-like stroke; he can create moments of brilliance, yet also has a slightly Gazza-esque mentality off the pitch.

“He’s a loveable rogue. Grealish is well aware of what he needs to do to get back into David Moyes’ good graces.
“If he returns to the pitch and showcases his magic helping Everton rise in the standings, all can be forgiven.”
However, he acknowledged that Grealish’s England career seems to be over, having been for some time.
He mentioned: “I believe Grealish’s time with the England squad has long been sealed.
“There are too many players performing well in his position; I don’t foresee him receiving a call-up again.”
Shearer added that the entire situation reflects poorly on Grealish, advising him to concentrate on his football.
The legendary striker emphasized: “Football careers are fleeting; you must give it your all.
“Everyone deserves to unwind, and I see no issue with enjoying oneself when appropriate. However, there is a time and place, and Jack appears to enjoy partying and drinking; at times, it has adversely affected him.
“He is a very likable character who gives generously to charity. Nonetheless, he must recognize that football should be his priority, and such behavior cannot occur too frequently—currently, it does not paint a good picture for him.”
Grealish has made five appearances across all competitions for Everton this season.
He initially made a strong impact during his first loan stint with the Merseyside club last season, until a severe injury curtailed his season.
Grealish has previously celebrated three Premier League titles with City, along with the FA Cup and Champions League.
