Footage has emerged online appearing to show Leinster prop Tadhg Furlong grabbing Munster’s Gavin Coombes by the groin during Saturday’s heated interprovincial clash at the Aviva Stadium.
The clip has attracted lots of attention following an allegation made by Coombes during Munster’s 24-18 defeat to their provincial rivals.
The incident occurred in the 37th minute, matching the timeframe of Coombes’ complaint to the match officials.
@tonyscone1 @RuaidhriOC It seems to be furlong on Coombes, will have to be looked into further from another angle but there’s something there alright https://t.co/Km88q4qe7v

Interestingly, the footage was shared by the United Rugby Championship’s official TikTok account.
In the clip, Furlong appears to make contact with the Munster back row’s groin area while attempting to clear him out.
The contact may well have been accidental, with Furlong appearing to be attempting a routine clear-out.
It remains unclear whether this is the exact incident Coombes was referring to, while the footage alone does not establish whether the contact was deliberate.
The clip has nevertheless added another talking point to an already controversial encounter between the two Irish provinces.
This is the incident involving the alleged groin grab, not the other two clips doing the rounds. Anything less than an eight-week ban for Furlong would be a disgrace and show bias in the treatment of Jan-Hendrik Wessels. https://t.co/bSJoN59ore
