A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE match was halted for two minutes after flares were thrown onto the roof and pitch of the venue.
The Dutch club Feyenoord hosted Italian powerhouse Inter Milan on Tuesday evening.
Home supporters outside the stadium reportedly reacted negatively to Inter scoring their third goal, leading them to launch flares into the air above the arena.
Burning remnants of the pyrotechnics then drifted down onto the pitch of the 47,500-capacity De Kuip stadium.
Footage from the event displays blazing debris scorching the roof as additional pieces fell towards the ground.
One piece was visibly smoking on the grass within the empty penalty box.

Referee Glenn Nyberg paused the game with less than 20 minutes remaining in the match.
However, it was determined safe to resume just two minutes later, as Inter maintained their lead to secure a full three points.
Yann Aurel Bisseck, Pio Esposito, and Piotr Zielinski were the goal scorers for the Serie A title contenders.
Former Spurs player Djed Spence excelled at full-back, contributing two assists and a clean sheet for the visitors.

This victory lifted Cristian Chivu’s team to 14th in the Champions League standings.
Meanwhile, although Feyenoord enjoys considerable success at the top of the Eredivisie, their fortunes in Europe have been less favorable.
The team, led by former Arsenal and Rangers star Giovanni van Bronckhorst, has only secured one win out of their first four matches in the tournament.
That sole victory came against Cesc Fabregas’ Como, as Barcelona and Betis also added to their woes, leaving them in 30th place in the League Phase after four games.
