BOIPATONG.- Former Jomo Cosmos midfielder Tshediso Tukane shared a spoil against his former team, La Masia FC, as the two drew 1-1 in an ABC Motsepe League match at the packed Boipatong Stadium on November 1.

Tukane was appointed as co-coach to assist the club’s long-serving coach, Thabang ‘Vila’ Mphuti.

His appointment comes as the team tries to avoid relegation. As things stand, Boipatong FC is at the bottom of the log with two points. Their weekend match against La Masia was a must-win game, but they failed to collect the maximum points. However, it was an encouraging performance from the home team, especially in the second half.

The game went to the interval break with La Masia FC leading 1-0. They allowed the visitors to dominate them in their own backyard. To make it more interesting, the visitors’ fans came in large numbers. They packed the venue and made their presence felt by the home supporters.

In the second half, Boipatong FC came on strong after the co-coaches, Mphuti and Tukane, made some changes. The home team improved in the second half and threw everything at their opponents.

There was more purpose going forward, forcing La Masia to defend with their back against the wall.

It was a two-half game, with La Masia FC having their share in the first half, and Boipatong FC coming alive in the second half. They could have won this game if they took their chances, especially with a goalkeeper to beat. But having said this, La Masia FC also had the opportunity to win this encounter in the closing stages of the game. They kept supporters on the edge of their seats every time they were on attack.

All the supporters went home entertained.

Meanwhile, Boipatong FC will be on the road to visit Ssu M-17 FC at Phillip Stadium on November 6.
