Justin Barcia to debut with new Twisted Tea Suzuki team in AUSX Open

The international appeal of racing continues as Justin Barcia has entered the AUSX Open November 7 at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, marking his first race for the Twisted Tea Suzuki team.

“I was meant to race in Australia back in 2018, so it’s always felt like unfinished business for me,” Barcia said in a news release. “Starting this new chapter with Suzuki Pipes Motorsport Group, getting to line up alongside Kenny [Roczen] and racing against such a strong field is something I’m really looking forward to.

“I’ve heard how passionate the Australian fans are, and I can’t wait to get out there, put on a show and fight for the win.”

This will not only be Barcia’s first race with his new team, it will be the first time he has competed in the Australian series. Barcia was scheduled to race in the 2018 AUSX Open in 2018, but underwent eye surgery that kept him out of the round.

“We first announced Justin for the AUSX Open back in 2018, so to finally have him confirmed on the start gate eight years later is incredibly exciting,” said Adam Bailey, CEO, AUSX. “Barcia is exactly the type of rider fans love to watch. He’s aggressive, unpredictable and never backs down from a battle.”

Barcia will join his teammate Roczen as well as several other SuperMotocross League stars including Christian Craig and Jo Shimoda, who will make his debut on a 450 bike.
