Peyton Ssuubi makes youth Olympic games debut

Uganda’s Peyton Mary Ssuubi made her debut at the Youth Olympic Games in the girls’ 400-metre freestyle, clocking 4 minutes, 52 seconds and 59 microseconds in her opening race.

Despite finishing behind Tunisia’s Ilef Zouaghi, Ssuubi showed a strong finish, recording her fastest 50 metres in the closing stretch.

She now shifts her focus to the 100-metre breaststroke, scheduled for Tuesday, November.
