Bayern Munich will not make another attempt to sign Liverpool attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, according to the club’s supervisory board member Uli Hoeness.
The German champions had the chance to recruit the former Bayer star in summer 2025, but lost out to Liverpool in the race for the player.
Wirtz, 23, has since struggled to make the expected impact in England, leading to renewed speculation that Bayern Munich could revisit their interest.
However, Hoeness dismissed the possibility of a fresh approach when asked whether Bayern might try to sign the Germany international in the future because of his difficulties at Liverpool.
“No. He has a long-term contract with Liverpool. They will try to integrate him better into their system,” Hoeness said, according to Bayern & Germany.
He also suggested that Wirtz would have found life more comfortable at Bayern Munich.
Wirtz’s current market value is estimated at 85m euros by Transfermarkt.
