Vadodara, October 25: Indian cricketer Tejal Hasabnis credits her recent strong performances to meticulous preparation, emphasizing that it provides the clarity needed when batting in the middle order. Hasabnis's impressive twin half-centuries for India 'A' against Australia 'A' in Mohali, which secured a 2-1 series victory, earned her a recall to the national team for the ongoing ODI series against Zimbabwe at the BCA Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the second ODI, Hasabnis highlighted the importance of preparation for a middle-order batter. "Preparation is very crucial. I try to simulate different match situations in practice, focusing on target areas and how to build an innings. This helps me gain clarity during the actual match, which I believe leads to better results," she explained. Her scores of 81 and 60 against Australia 'A' were a testament to this approach, where she focused on staying present and adapting to the scoreboard, always trying to be one step ahead of the opposition bowlers.

When asked about the nature of her preparation, Hasabnis stressed that self-belief and mindset play a significant role. "It's about having the belief that I can shift gears when needed. Whether it's attacking or rotating the strike, I know I have both gears. It's about trusting that ability and responding to the scoreboard." With India having convincingly won the first ODI by nine wickets, Tejal affirmed the team's commitment to maintaining their winning momentum by focusing on fundamental aspects of the game. "Winning and dominating is our aim, and we'll focus on our process to make today count," she concluded.
