Leicester City return to League One action on Tuesday evening when they host Wigan Athletic.

Russell Martin’s side were defeated 2-1 by Luton Town on Saturday, so they’ll be keen to bounce back with a win.

Wigan are sitting rock bottom after eight defeats in their opening 11 games, so Leicester should be making a real statement here.

Considering the clash comes just three days after Luton, Martin will have to make changes to manage the load of his players.

With that said, here is Leicester’s predicted XI against Wigan.

Russell Martin could hand Ilari Kangasniemi and Will Smallbone their full Leicester debut

Caleb Okoli had a dreadful afternoon at Kenilworth Road and was dragged off at half-time, so he’s expected to be dropped to the bench against Wigan.

If Martin keeps the three-at-the-back formation, surely Ilari Kangasniemi will make his full Leicester debut and start alongside Harry Souttar and Warren O’Hora.

The 19-year-old has only made two appearances since joining from Finnish top-flight side FC Inter Turku in the summer.

John Lundstram picked up a second yellow and a red card at Luton, so he will have to serve a one-game suspension.

Like Kangasniemi, Will Smallbone could also make his first start for the Foxes as he replaces Lundstram at the base of midfield.

The other two changes could be made in the forward line, as Sammy Braybrooke and Kamari Doyle drop out.

Braybrooke’s style of play is focused on pressing high and covering a lot of distance in the final third, so he’ll need a rest after two games in four days.

Conor Chaplin is back fit and is likely to start his second league game for the club following a couple of cameo appearances since returning from the treatment table.

Doyle was a lot quieter against Luton and will likely make way for Liam Cullen, who scored a superb goal off the bench on Saturday.

Cullen has netted three goals in five starts this season, so he deserves an opportunity from the first whistle.

Leicester predicted XI: McCarthy; Alves, O’Hora, Souttar, Kangasniemi, Thomas; Smallbone, Page; Chaplin, Cullen; Riis.
