In-form KCCA aim for sixth consecutive win
John Batanudde

Overview:

Forwards Charles Lwanga, Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Sammy Ssebaduka remain key to KCCA’s ambitions in the game but must be lethal at the back to thwart any attacks that could be thrown at them by Fred Amaku and Dickson Niwamanya among others.

After becoming the first side to win five matches in a row this season, KCCA have a chance to stretch their winning streak to six when they host Maroons at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.

The Kasasiro Boys come into the game on the back of a 3-1 win at Mbarara City and will be confident of claiming victory against Maroons who drew goalless with Entebbe UPPC in their last outing.

Currently fifth on the 18-team table, KCCA have an opportunity to move into the top four for the first time this season with a win.

Tied on 16 points with Entebbe UPPC who are not in action until the following day, Brian Ssenyondo’s men will move within points of table leaders BUL and NEC and just one point behind record champions SC Villa whose unbeaten streak was ended in defeat at Njeru on Tuesday.

Maroons are 10th on the log with 10 points and are unbeaten in the past four outings including picking a draw at Kitende which will be an inspiration going into the Lugogo clash.

In the past five league meetings, KCCA hold edge with two wins and three draws with Maroons last win way back in 2023 when they won 2-1 at Lugogo.

Former KCCA midfield gem Jackson Nunda will turn his guns against his former bosses.

In the other game on Wednesday, URA visit Kataka at the Bukedea Comprehensive Sports Complex.
