Eléctrico claimed the Associação de Futebol de Portalegre Taça de Honra on Sunday with a 5-1 victory against Mosteirense at the Estádio Municipal do Crato. The Ponte de Sor club overcame an early deficit in the final, capitalizing on a second-half red-card disadvantage for their opponents to secure the senior football trophy.

Mosteirense Takes Early Lead Before Eléctrico Responds

Mosteirense started the match with stronger intensity and opened the scoring to take a 1-0 advantage. Eléctrico responded before halftime, scoring two unanswered goals to reverse the deficit and lead 2-1 at the interval. After the break, the Ponte de Sor side established tactical control and extended their advantage to the final 5-1 scoreline. The contest turned further in Eléctrico’s favor when Mosteirense played roughly twenty minutes with nine men following two player ejections, a numerical disadvantage that hampered any attempted comeback.

Coaching Reactions From the Estádio Municipal do Crato Final

Eléctrico manager Emanuel Baleizão praised his team’s performance across the 90 minutes, highlighting their ball circulation, attacking efficiency, and the overall quality of play. While acknowledging that the final score reflected Mosteirense’s numerical disadvantage, Baleizão maintained that the victory was deserved. The result marks the 19th senior football trophy for the Ponte de Sor club and the 10th personal title for Baleizão as Eléctrico coach, making him the most decorated manager in the club’s history.

Mosteirense coach Luís Miguel Macedo conceded the fairness of the result while emphasizing that the final remained competitive while both teams had equal players on the pitch. Macedo expressed frustration over the impact of the ejections, which forced his side to play extended stretches down two men, though he commended his players’ work rate and insisted the scoreline did not accurately reflect the difference in quality between the two squads.

Upcoming Campeonato Distrital de Seniores Schedule

Following the conclusion of the Taça de Honra tournament, both clubs turn their attention to league competition. The Campeonato Distrital de Seniores opens its schedule with the first round of matches on November 15.
