Niger Tornadoes maintained their impressive run in the Nigeria Premier Football League after holding Barau FC to a goalless draw at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna on Friday, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
The result means the Ikon Allah Boys have now gone five league matches without defeat, recording three victories and two draws during that period. Barau FC also preserved their unbeaten streak, extending it to four matches.
Both teams found it difficult to produce clear scoring opportunities in a tightly contested Matchday 11 encounter, with their defensive organisation preventing either side from making the breakthrough.
The point lifted Barau to fourth position on the NPFL table, while Niger Tornadoes moved up to fifth.
Tornadoes will now turn their attention to an away meeting with Bendel Insurance in their next league fixture, while Barau FC are scheduled to welcome Shooting Stars.
Before Friday's encounter, Niger Tornadoes had received a boost with the return of Joseph Godfrey, Erickson Mendos and Moses Obioma from injury, giving the coaching crew additional options for the match.
However, Nafiu Obalowu remained unavailable after picking up an injury during the club's previous league outing against Abia Warriors.
