Carlos Tevez names ex-Manchester United team-mate who was better than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi
Michael Carrick to remain in charge at Manchester United

Carlos Tevez has named Paul Scholes as his greatest-ever team-mate, even of the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tevez spent two years at Man Utd as part of one of the most fearsome attacks in Premier League history, lining up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov.

Known for his relentless work rate, determination and attacking quality, Tevez has previously been named by Wayne Rooney as his favourite former strike partner during a spell when Man Utd won six trophies, including back-to-back Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League.

Tevez spoilt his legacy at Old Trafford by a controversial move to bitter rivals Man City, but the Argentine still has very fond memories of his time at Old Trafford - and has name-checked playing with Scholes as a particular career highlight when appearing on the Rio Ferdinand Presents channel.

Tevez made the revelation during a conversation with Ferdinand, on his former team-mates's podcast.

Ferdinand said: "When I think about the front three. You, Ronaldo, [Wayne] Rooney and then [Dimitar] Berbatov. Just quickly a couple of quick questions. Scholes or David Silva?

"Scholes," Tevez responded, adding: "For me the best player. For me the best player ... Do you remember at training. Like this, no speak, nothing. First ball.

"All the time at training, pass, pass pass ... For me the best. [Andrea] Pirlo and Scholes."
