It can be argued that Danhausen was overexposed on WWE programming following his success in mainstream sports media after his uncursing of the New York Knicks ahead of their NBA Championship win, but WWE did a good job of backing off with the character heading into the Halloween season. That was a good call, as Danhausen felt ever-so-slightly refreshed, and he knocked it out of the park during his hosting duties over Halloween week. From hosting "WWE NXT" Halloween Havoc to his own spooky YouTube special, it was the perfect use of Danhausen.
The Halloween theming was kept off "WWE Raw" and "WWE NXT," but WWE gave Danhausen his own "Very Nice, Very Evil Halloween Special" on YouTube on Tuesday. Fans could seek out of the show if they wanted to, but there wasn't too much Danhausen thrown in their faces on normal weekly programming at the beginning of the week. The show featured a variety of spooky match replays from various eras of WWE, alongside appearances from the likes of The Boogeyman and Papa Shango. As of this writing, it has over 770,000 views, not too shabby for a silly show thrown up on YouTube.
The Danhausen-hosted edition of "WWE SmackDown" came next, with a few harmless backstage segments involving the star. WWE even surprisingly brought back the seemingly-forgotten Danhausen experiment bit. While they could have left the bit at the zombie gingerbread man, who was "revived" by Danhausen and got involved in a Lil Yachty and Trick Williams segment, the real "experiment" actually ended up helping further a storyline.
Danhausen and GUNTHER had been involved in segments together in recent weeks, and when Danhausen took to the stage to reveal his surprise, GUNTHER beat him down. After a lengthy segment involving the Mini Hausens, the "body" in Danhausen's possession was revealed to be "The Demon" Finn Balor, who took care of the "Ring General."
Halloween Havoc, held on the actual holiday itself for the first time, was also hosted by Danhausen. He had a "spin the wheel, make a deal" bit that set up a "Very Nice, Very Evil," or, no disqualification, falls count anywhere, match for Zilla Fatu and Charlie Dempsey, and he had a few appearances throughout the night that didn't overstay their welcome or overshadow the stars of "NXT."
WWE did an excellent job of utilizing Danhausen throughout Halloween week, without it being too much. His hosting duties even allowed for him to continue a real storyline or two, which was unexpected for the comedy character. Between all his appearances, and the "Fanhausens" sharing their intricate costumes on social media, it was a very good week to be the "Very Nice, Very Evil" one.
