Terry-Anne Hart, founder and CEO of Fighters Club Boxing Promotions, returns with a two-pronged boxing event — a seven-bout hardcore boxing tournament and the official launch of the “Surviving Silver Lakes” women’s empowerment and boxing initiative series — on November 14.

The initiative helps female boxers sharpen their skills, share their stories, build careers, and find their voices in the sport.

Hart staged the IBO world junior lightweight championship bout between newly crowned champ Bernice “The Badger” Ferreira and Ellen “The Tigress” Simwaka at the Wild Coast Sun in Bizana, Eastern Cape, on May 9.

Her subsequent high-profile event, “Fight Like a Woman: Battle at the Island”, which was planned for the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town in August, had to be postponed after her house was burnt down and partners pulled out at a late stage.

Fighters Club Boxing Promotions’ media liaison officer, Luthando “Trompies” Zibeko, assured the fight fraternity that his boss was working around the clock to prepare for the November tournament.

We want women in boxing to have consistent opportunity to compete, be seen and build careers

“We have put all the setbacks aside [referring to the cancelled August tournament] and instead look forward to contributing to the development of boxing in the country

“These are exciting times in SA boxing ... and as a promotions company, we hope to add to that excitement.

Asanda “The Golden Girl” Simelane and Noxolo Magagula will headline the card with a six-round catchweight bout.

That reflects Fighters Club’s commitment to creating competitive opportunities and greater visibility for female boxers.

Hart said: “We want women in boxing to have consistent opportunity to compete, be seen and build careers.

She described “Surviving Silver Lakes” as a women-focused boxing reality series exploring fighters’ training, competition, personal development and ambition beyond the ring.

“The launch gives our guests a closer look at the platform we are building and the women at its heart,” she said. “Their discipline, ambition and determination deserve an audience beyond fight night.”

SA bantamweight champ Nomusa Ngema and national featherweight holder Ntombokuqala “Desert Flower” Tolashe will meet in a six-round, non-title featherweight bout.

Action will begin at 7pm.
