Former UFC star Cody East has fought around the world in all sorts of disciplines – and he is now able to see the finish line.
East has put together a 7-1 professional boxing record, as well as a 16-8 run in MMA that saw him reach the big show for two outings against Walt Harris and Curtis Blaydes. He is now competing in BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, and is quickly rising through the ranks.

At the age of 38 and fighting at bridgerweight tonight against Ike Villanueva, East is conscious that his time as a fighter might be coming to an end. But first, he wants to win the gold that is currently held by Marko Martinjak.
Cody East has serious pedigree in combat sports, and he plans to showcase his skills tonight in Biloxi against the former world champion Ike Villanueva. His opponent is retiring, and it is expected to be an emotional night.
His own lengthy career now is in its twilight, and he admitted in an exclusive chat with Bloody Elbow that he thinks about his own retirement. “I’m 38 now, but I feel great even though it’s hard,” East explained. “I’m a social worker, I help people with recovery from drug addiction and coming out of prison.
“So I have a career, I have a job and I just really, truly enjoy competing still. Going to the UFC and stuff, I never reached what I was supposed to be. I never showed how good I really am and BKB are giving me an opportunity.
“But if I can go and win a title I might just walk away there. If I can win the belt then I’d be able to walk away happy.”
