Mikel Arteta has revealed Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice and Christos Tzolis have all participated in training today, representing a triple boost for Arsenal before Sunday's encounter at Liverpool. Calafiori and Rice were both absent from the surprising Carabao Cup fourth-round loss to Fleetwood Town in midweek after picking up knocks against Everton last weekend. Tzolis, by contrast, has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring problem while on international duty with Greece, though the winger is now edging closer to fitness.

Addressing the media on Friday during his pre-match briefing ahead of the journey to Anfield, Arteta confirmed the threesome will be included in the squad to face Liverpool provided they come through Saturday's training session unscathed.

"They all trained today. They will train tomorrow and if all is okay, they will be available," he said.

Noni Madueke, who likewise sat out the Fleetwood defeat, remains uncertain, however. Arteta commented: "We don't know yet, we have a training session tomorrow, let's see if he can complete it."

The Gunners manager stopped short of ruling Madueke out of contention, though.

Meanwhile, William Saliba is not anticipated to return until late November at the soonest owing to a back complaint, and Bukayo Saka is recuperating from a thigh injury forecast to keep him unavailable until December. On Saka, Arteta commented: "He needed another scan to see the amount of fluid there was resolving, afterwards we will know more about it."

Regarding whether the Hale Ender would miss the forthcoming England fixtures, Arteta added: "Again, I don't know, it looks likely but we'll have to wait and see next week."

Max Dowman will certainly be unavailable for selection following his dismissal against Fleetwood for lashing out at Harrison Neal. The 16 year old will be absent for the Gunners' fixtures against Liverpool, Hull and Newcastle while serving a three-match ban.

The Gunners saw their appeal against the red card turned down by an independent commission, which rejected arguments of both wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment for Dowman.

On the matter, Arteta stated: "Very disappointed to be fair especially with the reckless tackle that he received. His reaction is minimal in compared to the action".

"It is what it is, we have put every argument on the table to make a case for it, not only [was] Max's action is clear, obviously we have a very different opinion, you have to read into the context, the age, the player.

"It could have been really bad and we're really lucky today that he doesn't have a broken foot."
