Collectible football cards could be worth a small fortune - but only if they have a limited number of markings, according to experts.

Hundreds of young football fans and families gathered at London's Olympia to celebrate 20 years of Topps Match Attax, with a day dedicated to football, trading cards and collecting.

Hosted by social media stars Coach Cain and Jack Whyte, the free October half-term event in West Kensington brought together the next generation of football collectors for a day of football-themed activities, card swapping and celebrations.

Coach Cain gave some top tips of what to look out for when spotting the most valuable football cards. He said: "The new Match Attax collection has an all-new rarity system which makes it nice and easy for fans and collectors to gauge which cards are more valuable than others. On top of limited edition cards, they have ratings one star up to five stars and then the mystical rarity being the rarest, these are the rarest finds in the whole collection.

“It was brilliant to see so many Match Attax fans out in force celebrating 20 years of collecting. For so many football fans, opening their first Match Attax pack is one of their earliest memories of the game, so to see a new generation of collectors sharing that same excitement was really special. The atmosphere was incredible, and it just goes to show how Match Attax continues to bring football fans of all ages together.”

Attendees had the chance to get their hands on the latest 2026/27 UEFA Club Competitions Match Attax collection, featuring some of football's biggest stars, including Lamine Yamal, Bukayo Saka and Michael Olise, in a celebration of one of football's most iconic trading card collections.

Jack Whyte (GBW), collecting star and event co-host, added: "Match Attax is where my love of collecting began, and to think it's now my career is pretty surreal. Seeing thousands of kids come together is something special, this is what collecting is all about: bringing people together through a shared love of football."

Trio Ballers, made up of young Topps Match Attax fans Tommy (12), Teddy (9) and Lenny (9), said: "It was so cool! We love opening Match Attax packs and finding our favourite players, but getting to do it with loads of other kids was even better!”

Carlo Zoccali, Event Operations Director at Olympia Events, said: "What a day! We've welcomed thousands of football fans and families to Olympia, with the venue buzzing from start to finish. Like Olympia, Topps - Match Attax is a much-loved brand with a remarkable legacy”
