Arsenal may need to cover for some major injury concerns, as Bukayo Saka is the latest to suffer from a muscular problem, ahead of a meeting with Liverpool.

The concern came during the Gunners' meeting with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, as the two teams battled it out for the points in the league phase. It was the visitors who started the brightest, as Eberechi Eze's strike beat the outstretched hand of Manuel Neuer to give Arsenal the lead.

Just 10 minutes later, Bayern Munich struck back. An impressive through ball from Harry Kane found the run of Alphonso Davies, who leveled the match with his cool finish.

The scoreline continued to twist and turn in the second half, as Kane fired the home side into the lead around the hour mark, scoring from the penalty spot, before Declan Rice's shot brought the game level late on.

It ended honors even for both teams, which took a point each away from a difficult league phase match, looking ahead to some simpler ties in the following weeks of the Champions League.

While Arsenal may take some belief away from getting a result against one of the favorites in the competition, there is now concern for Saka, who had to be substituted early on after going to the ground in innocuous circumstances.

The winger appeared to play a simple pass out wide, but fell clutching his thigh in the process, requiring an early exit.

"It does not look good at all. It's his quad," Arteta admitted after the game, making the England international a doubt for the upcoming run of fixtures for the Gunners.

That hands Arsenal another potential injury concern, with Liverpool set to take on the North London side at Anfield in just over a week.

That adds Saka to a list of potential absentees, which includes Christos Tzolis in the forward ranks, as well as defensive duo William Saliba and Piero Hincapie, underlining the possible quality that could be missing for the visitors on the day.

Andoni Iraola could have his own injury issues to point to for the meeting, with Jeremie Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai left as doubts for the upcoming run of fixtures. That is on top of long-term injuries for the likes of Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike, and Giovanni Leoni.

It's unclear exactly what the absences could do to the match itself, though Arsenal seemingly possesses much more quality in depth to call upon, which has been crucial in the side's recent success.

While Saka could end up being a huge absence for the Gunners, if he does miss the match with Liverpool next weekend, the Merseyside outfit will still need to be on guard for the rest of the quality available to the visitors on the day.
