Arsenal XI vs Bayern Munich: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Champions League today
Mikel Arteta press conference before Bayern Munich vs Arsenal

Noni Madueke is handed a start for Arsenal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight.

The Gunners are in Germany to take on Vincent Kompany's side in a blockbuster showdown, though the head coach may be absent to an ongoing illness.

Eberechi Eze started on the left wing in Arsenal's win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, but he struggled and was replaced at half-time.

Madueke came off the bench to score the winner and he has looked bright in his appearances on that flank.

Mikel Arteta has made two changes as his squad is strong enough to rotate slightly without weakening the side.

Jurrien Timber comes in at right-back, as he continues to share the minutes with Ben White.

In midfield, Myles Lewis-Skelly has to wait for his chance over Bruno Guimaraes, while Martin Zubimendi is available again and “will be involved” after a minor hamstring issue.

Kai Havertz has not been at his best since the international break, but is chosen up front despite Viktor Gyokeres, who is yet to score for Arsenal this season, starting the previous Champions League matches this season.

Piero Hincapie remains out with an ankle issue, but Arteta suggested he could be in contention when Arsenal host Everton on Saturday.

"If he is able to train the next few days he can be available for Everton, which is great news,” Arteta said.
