Michael Chandler is about to step foot into the world of professional wrestling.

Chandler didn’t suggest that he would be retiring when speaking after his fourth consecutive loss inside the Octagon earlier this year.

The lightweight star has delivered some incredible moments since signing to the promotion six years ago despite going 2-6 since then.

Last year, Chandler said he’s had contract talks with the WWE, with his first official involvement being scheduled for this Wednesday.

Michael Chandler set to be special guest enforcer for unsanctioned match on NXT

It was recently announced via social media that UFC star Michael Chandler will be a part of the November 4 episode of WWE’s NXT.

The promotion’s developmental brand is putting on a bigger show than usual due to the episode going head-to-head with AEW’s annual ‘Blood & Guts’ event.

In a video posted on his Instagram, Chandler made reference to one of the matches that is booked for November 4, an unsanctioned match between Dion Lennox and Cruz Montana.

“It seems you want this thing to end but you don’t want to take responsibility for it because you know exactly what these two are capable of and exactly what these two want to do to each other after last time they squared off,” Chandler said.

“So, if you need somebody to keep a little order inside the chaos, you need somebody who is well-versed in the language of chaos and if you need somebody, you just let me know, because I know a guy.”

A video posted by NXT general manager Robert Stone then confirmed that he would be taking the MMA veteran up on his offer.

“It’s set in stone!!!! Not a better man for the job… no one is more unsanctioned than me,” Chandler replied via X.

While this is the first time that he will be involved in a match, the 40-year-old has previously appeared on a live WWE broadcast.

Chandler called out Conor McGregor when given time on the microphone during an episode of Raw back in 2024.

Next week’s NXT will also feature appearances from John Cena and Cody Rhodes in order to boost the episode’s rating on the CW.
