Dar es Salaam. Yanga and Simba supporters have a reason to celebrate after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) approved Uhuru Stadium to host their continental group-stage matches, providing a major boost to Tanzania’s representatives in the 2026/2027 club competitions.
The decision means the two traditional rivals can look forward to playing their CAF Champions League home fixtures in Dar es Salaam rather than having to relocate to Zanzibar, as had been anticipated following concerns over Uhuru Stadium’s compliance with CAF requirements.
