Nigerian strikers Victor Osimhen and Gift Orban are leading the race for the Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot following impressive performances for their respective clubs over the weekend.
Osimhen maintained his remarkable scoring form by finding the back of the net in Galatasaray’s convincing 4-0 away victory over Konyaspor on Friday.
Meanwhile, Orban produced an outstanding display for Amedspor, scoring a goal and providing an assist in their commanding 5-1 triumph over Eyupspor on Sunday.
The two Super Eagles forwards have now moved level at the top of the league’s scoring standings with nine goals each.
However, Orban currently has a slight advantage over Osimhen in the assist column, having recorded four assists compared to his compatriot’s three.
Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah is also in contention, sitting just one goal behind the Nigerian duo with eight goals for Trabzonspor.
With the season progressing, the battle for the Turkish Super Lig’s top goalscorer award is shaping up to be an exciting contest between the Nigerian forwards and their closest challengers.
