Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off the field after a worrying injury, leaving his teammates in tears.
The highest-paid linebacker in NFL history attempted to tackle the ball carrier when his facemask got caught, and his head lowered on the tackle as he remained on the ground.
Medical staff was immediately called to the field as play was stopped for over five minutes, before replays were not shown on FOX, with Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt somber while on the call. Lions superstar Aidan Hutchinson was left in tears while speaking to his teammates, clearly worried for Campbell.
The Lions whole roster came to the field in support of Campbell as he left the field on a stretcher before leaving for hospital.
