Terry Bradshaw 'afraid to say' what he really thinks about Donald Trump
NFL legend Terry Bradshaw has issued a sharp condemnation of President Trump

NFL legend and FOX Sports star Terry Bradshaw has issued a sharp condemnation of Donald Trump ahead of the November Midterms after admitting he was "afraid to say" what he really thinks about the President.

Bradshaw, 78, is one of American Sports’ most beloved figures, having carved out a legendary career in the NFL as a four-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers before becoming one of the faces of football broadcasting. He has been broadcasting since 1984, starting shortly after retiring from the NFL, but his longest TV stint has been at FOX, where he has been for the past 32 years.

Bradshaw’s stint in broadcasting may be nearing an end, with retirement after FOX broadcasts the Super Bowl in 2029 on the table. However, while he still has a major platform, Bradshaw has drifted into uncharted territory, talking politics ahead of the November Midterms.

Bradshaw issued a sharp condemnation of sitting President Trump, whose Republican Party faces a potential blowout, losing both the House and the Senate. However, he has admitted that he has been “afraid” to speak out thus far.

“I can’t believe that we live in a world where we have a leader that insults people. God, I have a hard time with that. Insults women. God, I have a hard time with it, and I’m so afraid to say it,” Hall of Famer Bradshaw said on The Rich Roll Podcast.

“It makes me shake my head. And I’m in a position, as a matter of fact, I’ve never said any of this before, because you know why? Because if you pick a side, you lose the other side,” he continued.

“There are 350 million Americans, and if you split them down the middle, that’s 175 million, right? Yeah. If I don’t want to lose 175. Of course not.”

Bradshaw has criticized Trump in the past, particularly regarding the NFL. In 2017, Trump was part of a large crowd that condemned players who protested during the national anthem.

Trump had called on NFL team owners to fire players.

"This is America. If our country stands for anything, folks, it's freedom. People died for that freedom. I'm not sure if our President understands those rights,” Bradshaw said on FOX NFL Sunday at the time.

“That every American has the right to speak out also to protest. Believe me, these athletes do love our this great country of ours.

"Personally, I think our President should concentrate on North Korea and healthcare rather than ripping into athletes and the NFL."

Trump didn’t take Bradshaw’s advice on sticking to politics. The President has made pointed remarks across a wide range of sportspeople over the years.

More recently, he slammed LeBron James on his Philadelphia 76ers debut for “disrespecting” the national anthem, before taking aim at Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries players for leaving the court during the national anthem in the WNBA Finals.
