Arsenal Set Price To Sell Viktor Gyokeres Amid Serie A, La Liga Links

Arsenal has set a price for Viktor Gyokeres as interest in the striker grows, with clubs in Italy, Spain, and the Premier League following his status at the Emirates.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal want to recuperate the full £55 million they paid to sign the Sweden international if he decides to leave within the next year. The North London club believes its £55 million valuation will attract rather than discourage suitors.

The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Mikel Arteta this season, and he is said to be upset with his restricted playing time. The former Coventry City striker made a strong start in North London, scoring 21 goals in all competitions last season.

Although the Swedish striker’s performances were criticized at times, his goal scoring record underlined his ability to make an impression after returning to English sport. However, Gyokeres has fallen down the pecking order this season, with Kai Havertz being ahead of him in Arteta’s lineup. If his situation does not improve, the forward may seriously evaluate his future, with a move next summer becoming increasingly likely.

This season, the Swede has played in only nine games, totaling 345 minutes and one assist. His lack of involvement in the Premier League has been especially noticeable, with only 80 minutes of top-flight play so far. He was also passed over in favor of Havertz for the Champions League final, highlighting the struggle he faces for a starting spot.

A winter move seems unlikely

Gyokeres is expected to consider his options if the situation remains unchanged. His reputation throughout Europe could spark interest, notably from Serie A and La Liga clubs wanting to improve their attacking options.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are unlikely to agree to a quick departure in January. Arteta wants to keep his squad intact this season, and the club would prefer to find and sign a successor before exploring a move for their Swedish forward.

That position might prolong any prospective transfer into next summer, when interested teams may have a better chance to negotiate a deal. For Arsenal, recouping the £55 million investment would mitigate the financial impact of a brief stint at the club. Meanwhile, a move to Italy or Spain may return him to a leading role, putting an end to the competition for minutes that has plagued him since joining the Emirates.
