Top-tier football is returning to Hwange next season.

A 1-0 win for Hwange FC over Bulawayo Warriors in the Southern Region Soccer League on Saturday sees them promoted to the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Shawn Mabika got the all-important goal.

It is a return to the top-flight for the Coalboys after they were relegated in 2024.

Hwange, also known as Chipangano, did show what they will have to offer next season. They beat Dynamos in the inaugural Munhumutapa Challenge Cup earlier this season.

So that means they will be a force to reckon with next season.

But for today, they celebrate.
