American football is set to expand its footprint in Uganda, with five universities and five US Exchange Alumni societies preparing to compete in a new national flag football league scheduled to run for 12 months.

The US Exchange Alumni Gridiron League was officially launched in Kampala, bringing together the American Football Federation of Uganda and US exchange programme alumni in an initiative aimed at promoting the sport and strengthening cultural ties between Uganda and the United States.
