Here’s all we know about Tavadze ahead of the prestigious ceremony which could see the Georgian player named as the best in the world.

How did the pair meet?

The couple first met in 2021, after being introduced through a mutual friend. At the time, Kvaratskhelia was playing for Napoli while Tavadze was studying at Tbilisi Medical University.

Due to her university commitments, Tavadze was unable to initially move out to Naples to be with Kvaratskhelia, though the pair kept in regular communication through phone calls and letters.

Whenever she had a break from her studies, she would fly out to Italy to support him.

They got married on October 16, 2023 at Mtskheta’s Samtavro monastery, where they wore traditional Georgian clothes.

Sharing photos of their special day, Kvaratskhelia simply posted the caption “16.10.23,” along with a praying emoji and a red love heart.

The following year, they welcomed their first child together, Damiane.

What does Nitsa do?

When the pair met, Tavadze was a medical student at university in Georgia, where they embarked on a long-distance relationship.

It is unknown if Tavadze has graduated from her medical degree or if she is still studying.

She regularly snippets of her life on her Instagram account, which has amassed over 200,000 followers.

Tavadze has also dipped her toe into the world of modelling, appearing in a photo campaign for Tbilisi-based luxury fashion store Boygar’s.

In October, Kvaratskhelia was injured during a Paris Saint-Germain match against Barcelona, and is set to have surgery after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

He is due to have an operation “in the coming days” but the team gave no timeline for his recovery.

In an Instagram post supporting her husband, she wrote: “Sometimes life tests the strongest people in ways they never expected.

“But I believe with all my heart that this moment will become another part of our incredible story. One day, we’ll look back at this chapter and remember not how difficult it was, but how much strength it took to overcome it.”
