Michael Carrick set to lead Manchester United training despite uncertainty over future

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick arrived at the club’s training base on Tuesday morning, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Englishman is expected to take charge of the team’s training session on 27 October, despite reports that his position is under threat.

Manchester United’s leaders were previously expected to hold a meeting to decide Carrick’s future at the club. The uncertainty follows two heavy defeats in succession, while the team’s winless run under Carrick has now reached eight matches in all competitions.

Manchester United’s next fixture is away to Chelsea on 31 October in the ninth round of the Premier League.
