Michael Carrick’s position as Manchester United head coach is under serious threat after the club’s hierarchy met on Monday to discuss his future.
No final decision was made at the meeting, meaning Manchester United could conduct another training session with Carrick on Tuesday.
According to journalist Paul Hirst, the club is increasingly considering Julian Nagelsmann as a possible replacement if Carrick is dismissed. Eddie Howe also remains a popular option among senior figures at Manchester United.
Carrick’s position has come under pressure after Sunday’s 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth. Manchester United are due to return to Premier League action next Saturday, 31 October, when they travel to face Chelsea.
