Newcastle United trainer Matthias Jaissle and former Red Bull Salzburg player Amar Dedic crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Thursday night following a 3–1 defeat to Everton, as reported by LAOLA1.

How Everton Built a First-Half Lead

The Toffees seized control before the interval, capitalizing on defensive mistakes from the visitors. Dedic fumbled a clearance inside his own area in the 34th minute, allowing James Garner to pounce and fire Everton ahead. Hayden Hackney then doubled the lead just before the halftime whistle in the 45th minute, leaving Newcastle down 2–0 at the break.

Thierno Barry extended the advantage to 3–0 in the 69th minute. Dan Burn managed an 88th-minute consolation goal for Newcastle, but the late strike proved too late to spark a comeback.

Disciplinary Absence of Jack Grealish

Everton played without Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish after the club announced before kickoff that the midfielder missed out due to disciplinary reasons. Sky reported that the 31-year-old had missed a training session in preparation for the cup fixture. Grealish had also missed the previous weekend’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal, where the club officially listed him as ill.

Squad Rotations and Upcoming Premier League Rematch

Everton must verzichten aufgrund der Bestimmungen zum Umgang mit Gehirnerschütterungen auf Innenverteidiger Jarrad Branthwaite, according to preview reports from Vietnam.vn. On the opposing side, Wettbasis noted that Matthias Jaissle opted for increased experience in his starting lineup during recent league play, raising the average age of his opening side. Both clubs will meet again on Monday at 21:00 local time in a Premier League fixture at Newcastle.
