Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has praised his players for their courage and composure after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Sunday.
Kylian Mbappe found the net twice, with Raphinha scoring for Barcelona in between, as Los Blancos claimed all three points and reduced the gap to the LaLiga champions to just three points.
Speaking after the match, he commended his team for handling Barcelona’s intense pressing game and maintaining their concentration under pressure.
Mourinho said: “My boys were amazing tonight. They were very brave, especially in build-up, against a team that presses very strongly and very high.
“And even when they equalised, we did not panic or lose focus.”
Real Madrid will now turn their attention to their next LaLiga fixture against Racing Santander, where they will aim to continue their winning momentum and put further pressure on Barcelona at the top of the standings.
Following that encounter, Mourinho’s side will travel to Greece to face AEK Athens in the Champions League as they continue their campaign across domestic and European competitions.
