It’s official! Harley-Davidson rolls out a brand new bike with a lower-than-ever price tag

HARLEY-DAVIDSON has officially revealed its next bike and completely reshaped the brand’s entry-level offerings in the process.

The Sprint 440’s reveal has officially confirmed its power, pricing, and more as the motorcycle maker seeks to reinvent itself under its new CEO.

The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 is being marketed as the perfect entry-level bike for new riders to get started on

The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 is slated to hit showroom floors in the US this spring, while sales are already underway in Canada, Europe, and most of the rest of the world.

While they’ll have to wait to buy one, Americans can at least get an early feel of what they’ll be buying – and, most importantly, for how much.

The Sprint 440 will come in as the company’s cheapest bike offered with an MSRP of just $5,999 in the states, sticking true to the promise former CEO Jochen Zeitz made in the final months of his tenure.

His replacement Artie Starrs has made a point of reinventing Harley into a more affordable brand so younger riders can get involved while still getting an enjoyable experience.

While not as powerful as some of the brand’s other bikes, the Sprint also promises to be much less costly to maintain

The Sprint’s price tag accomplishes the former, and its use of the same 440cc air/oil-cooled single-piston engine in the X440 and X440T promises to achieve the latter.

Harley-Davidson says that, on the Sprint 440, this engine will hit peak power outputs of 27hp at 6,000rpm, and 28lb-ft of torque at 4,000rpm.

While obviously not as powerful as the brand’s beloved V-twin engine designs, the single-piston powertrain minimizes weight and complexity, as well as maintenance costs.

This approach plays into the brand’s goal of introducing a bike geared toward younger, new riders in an exceptional way without sacrificing speed thanks to its curb weight of 412 pounds.

“The new Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 model is our invitation to ride,” said Starrs of the bike.

“The sensation of riding a motorcycle is like flying without leaving the ground, and the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 model welcomes everyone to share in this experience.”

Harley is committing even further to this invitational identity by using it as the bike of choice for its Riding Academy, offered at dealerships nationwide.
