Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel believes Arsenal have the quality to win the Premier League title this season, insisting he cannot see any other side capable of matching Mikel Arteta’s team.

Schmeichel shared his views on ViaPlay following Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, a result that marked their first win at the stadium since 2012.

The former Denmark international was impressed by Arsenal’s ability to secure all three points away from home and dismissed concerns about their style of play, arguing that results are what ultimately matter.

Schmeichel said the Gunners’ performance at Anfield underlined their credentials as title contenders, pointing to the quality available to Arteta.

“That performance, to come here to Anfield and win 1-0, I don’t care about the manner.

“Now they are winners and I can’t see anyone, with that squad and what he has available to him, Arteta, who can challenge this team.”
