A Tiffany Stratton Swerve Loading, Champion Sami Zayn is Thriving, More WWE Raw Fallout
Monday Night RAW
Tiffany Stratton

The Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, hosted the October 26 episode of WWE Raw on Netflix where the women's division took center stage.

Liv Morgan learned she would defend the Women's World Championship against Becky Lynch and needed The Judgment Day to save her from The Man and a Tiffany Stratton cash-in attempt.

Sami Zayn made a surprise appearance and retained the Undisputed WWE Championship against Je'Von Evans thanks to Bron Breakker, with Penta looming as a potential cash-in threat.

These events and more highlighted a show with major fallout on the road to Crown Jewel.

WWE is Overdoing the Fake MITB Cash-Ins

1 of 5

Since winning the Money in the Bank briefcases, both Penta and Tiffany Stratton have teased cash-ins multiple times. Raw was especially egregious with both looking ready to cash in on the same night.

These failed fake-outs do nothing but make the Money in the Bank holders look bad. This has been especially true for Stratton.

On SmackDown and Raw, WWE contrived situations where Liv Morgan only remained champion because Tiffy forgot what she was doing until The Judgment Day pulled the champion to safety.

Fake-outs like this hurt Austin Theory's credibility after his MITB win in 2022, and his eventual failed cash-in only compounded the problem.

Penta should not be cashing in any time soon, so fake-outs only make it look like he is failing in his plans repeatedly.

At least Stratton does look like she will be successfully cashing in soon, but WWE needs to write situations that are better timed to make everyone look competent.

Tiffany Stratton's Cash-In Teases Point to a Chelsea Green Swerve

Tiffany Stratton is repeatedly teasing cashing in against Liv Morgan, who has slipped through her grip time and again.

The most forgettable outcome would be for Tiffy to finally catch Liv and walk away with the gold, but that is not the most likely scenario.

Instead, the teases have set the stage for a swerve: Stratton cashing in on Chelsea Green.

It would be especially heartbreaking if Green managed to beat Morgan for the Women's Crown Jewel Championship, only to immediately lose her world title.

This makes more sense for everyone involved and lets Tiffy lean into a more natural heel role by turning on her own friend.

Sami Zayn Deserves Lengthy Run as Undisputed WWE Champion

Monday Night RAW
Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn showed his value as undisputed WWE champion once again, giving Raw a strong leading voice in the men's division while Roman Reigns took the week off.

His opening promo and match against Je'Von Evans delivered, adding necessary weight to a show that was otherwise understaffed.

As a test of how far Zayn can go, this segment was a rousing success that made clear the fresh heel can carry the gold for a while.

The best outcome would be for The Last Real Good Guy's antics to keep him strong until WrestleMania 43 where someone can step up to finally humble him.

In the meantime, there is no reason to hot-shot the title anymore. Cody Rhodes and CM Punk have had their time at the top, and there is plenty of time to sell Kevin Owens chasing Zayn before he wins big.

Penta's Makeshift Team with Je'Von Evans Is a Detour from the World Title

4 of 5

After just two tag matches together, Penta and Je'Von Evans have earned themselves a World Tag Team Championships match at Crown Jewel on Nov. 7.

While this makes sense after Mr. Money in the Bank and The Young OG defeated Bron Breakker and Austin Theory in non-title action, it is not an interesting angle.

Penta has the Money in the Bank briefcase and should be in the world title conversation. A tag team diversion does little to strengthen his world title credentials.

If Penta is going to be stuck in a tag title program, he could at least team with his brother, Rey Fénix. The two could be great tag champions.

Penta and Evans are not the type of team that elevates a struggling tag team division, especially when it is obvious WWE is just delaying the inevitable with Penta.

Evans would benefit more from joining forces with an established tag team against The Vision, as Seth Rollins did with The Street Profits earlier in the year.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom are doing almost nothing on SmackDown, work a similar style to The Young OG and deserve a tag title run more than a makeshift duo.

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley Exit Lengthy Feud with No Direction

5 of 5

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley finished up their feud with a strong match that did not feel as definitive as it should have.

The main problem was WWE's failure to capitalize on Valkyria's strong start to the feud. She came out of the first match dominant, only to do nothing. Even a second win over Bayley when she returned led nowhere.

By the time the bell rang, only the result of this final battle mattered, and Bayley defeated Valkyria by submission.

Since WWE has shown little interest in pushing The Role Model or The Valkyrie, it is hard to say what was even accomplished over the course of this feud.

Other wrestlers have treated their feud as a nuisance in backstage segments. Bayley's victory also carried limited weight, given Valkyria's struggles against other opponents in recent months.

Bayley is unlikely to get into the Women's Intercontinental Championship scene seriously, and Valkyria as a lone heel without credibility may be in need of another character reset already.
