Local football clubhouse apologises after Magic Mike-style entertainers get 'too steamy'

A football club has apologised after videos of a Magic Mike-style event at its clubhouse left people appeared to be 'steamy entertainment' provided by UK Pleasure Boys.

Banbury United FC's Spencer Clubhouse is situated near the Cotswolds, but unlike its calm and family-friendly location, images online have shown quite a different side to it.

The space at the Southern Premier League side's TUGO Community Stadium usually caters to events such as weddings or birthdays, but according to some social media clips and comments, an occasion much less official took place at the club's event space at the weekend.

Videos online from Saturday (17 October) show male dancers wearing cowboy hats and dancing on stage before stripping off their clothing, and even simulating acts on members of the crowd as online commenters make claims that things got a bit too heated.

However, John Woodward, the manager of Adrenalin Promotions which promotes the UK Pleasure Boys, said there is a 'no touching' policy enforced and he needs to establish what really happened that night.

Now, the football club has issued a formal apology for the raunchy event taking place in their clubhouse.

Banbury United FC apologised to 'everyone who attended the event', and claimed the night 'went beyond what we find acceptable at our venue'.

"We are aware of video clips circulating online from the UK Pleasure Boys’ ‘Wet & Wild’ show held at The Spencer Clubhouse on Saturday 17th October. This was a ticketed, 18+ event," the club wrote in a statement.

"The images suggest that part of the performance towards the end went beyond what we find acceptable at our venue. We apologise to anyone in attendance who was offended.

"The venue was booked for that evening by an external promoter as part of a UK-wide tour. We are reviewing what happened and will revise our hire and conduct terms for performance events as a result."

Speaking of the event, UK Pleasure Boys manager John Woodward said, per Oxford Mail: "At the moment, we're still looking into different scenarios that may have happened.

"It's pretty clear to the guys that no sexual activities are acceptable at our show, and that's not standard stuff we would expect to happen. If there's a specific performer that's done something you're not supposed to, the performer would be taken out of the show."

Woodward confirmed there is not a 'no touching' policy, explaining: "Touching is not really a big issue as long as within certain parameters. We don’t actually know what's happened at the moment, we’re hearing different comments from different people.

"There seem to be group chats and things where people are commenting who weren’t actually at the show, so we don’t know what’s hearsay and what’s facts – until we do we can’t make any sort of remark about that.

“What I can say, is we will be distancing ourselves from anybody whose acted inappropriately.”

According to Instagram, the UK Pleasure Boys have been on tour for months, which is aptly named 'Wet & Wild'.

Tickets cost £16.50 for generally admission, and then if you'd prefer a 'VIP front row' seat, you could always chalk up £27.50 for the close proximity.

As for the performers, the UK Pleasure Boys have yet to release their own statement on what happened.
