Chiamaka Nnadozie has been left out of the nominations for the 2026 CAF Women's Goalkeeper of the Year award, ending her three-year run as a shortlisted contender, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Super Falcons goalkeeper was absent from the 10-player list released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), despite her established reputation as one of the leading shot-stoppers in African women's football.
Nnadozie had featured among the nominees in the previous three editions of the award, making her omission from this year's shortlist a notable development.
The goalkeepers shortlisted for the 2026 prize are Chloe Ng'azi, Michaely Bihina, Cynthia Konlan, Mercy Sikelo, Fatoumata Karantao, Khadija Er-Rmichi, Christiana Uzuma, Adji Ndiaye, Kaylin Swart and Hazel Nali.
While Nnadozie will not be competing for the individual honour, Nigeria remains in contention in the Women's National Team of the Year category.
The Super Falcons have been nominated alongside Cameroon, Malawi, Morocco and South Africa for the team award.
Nigeria's nomination comes despite their quarter-final exit at the most recent Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The 2026 CAF Awards will recognise outstanding contributions and achievements across African football, with players, coaches, national teams and other stakeholders set to be honoured.
