How will Chelsea and Manchester United fare today? Here is what to know, including kick-off time, TV channels and live stream options

Chelsea and Manchester United both need a response to recent bad results. The former suffered a penalty shootout Carabao Cup exit to Liverpool on Wednesday days after a dismal home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The latter, meanwhile, have endured a chaotic week despite not playing a match. Michael Carrick is still in place as United manager despite widespread belief that Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Bournemouth would be his final act.

Saturday’s meeting at Stamford Bridge could be pivotal for both Xabi Alonso and Carrick. Chelsea and Manchester United aren’t where they want to be and this encounter will give a sense of their chances of changing that.

Here is your complete guide on how to watch today’s Premier League fixture, including kick-off times, broadcast networks and online streaming options.

Chelsea v Manchester United

Time: 12.30pm BST/8.30am ET

Stadium: Stamford Bridge (London)

What to watch for

Without João Pedro, Chelsea have struggled for attacking fluency in their last two games. Alonso has used Morgan Rogers and Emmanuel Emegha as deputy No 9s without success, which could point to Danny Welbeck starting against his former club on Saturday.

Manchester United are similarly struggling for attacking fluency, as well as defensive solidity, midfield control and a general sense of a dressing room fighting for their manager. What was widely expected to be the first match of the post-Carrick era is now another chance for the 45-year-old to turn things around.

United are winless in their last eight matches in all competitions while Chelsea have kept just one clean sheet in eight Premier League outings. All points to this match being a volatile one that could swing either way.

Player to watch: Morgan Rogers, Chelsea – Perhaps lucky not to be sent off against Tottenham Hotspur, Rogers has registered five goal contributions in just eight league games for Chelsea. The England international will pose a threat in and around the opposition area.
