Play was stopped with Mannarino serving down 0-2 (40-30), as umpire Manuel Messina noticed the ball boy go down.

Messina, Mannarino and Medvedev all went over to check on the boy, who was brought a bottle of water.

He then received swift medical attention and was helped up before being stretchered off.

As the worrying scene unfolded, Medvedev and Mannarino returned to their chairs.

It was subsequently reported that the ball boy was okay, with commentator Lucie Ahl saying: “It sames as if he fainted. Not nice to see at all.”

After a delay of around five minutes the match was able to be resumed, with the halted point being replayed.
