According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday October 26, 2026, Lamine Yamal has won the 2026 Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London, becoming the first player in history to claim the prestigious award three times.

The Barcelona winger previously secured the honour in 2024 and 2025, making his latest triumph a remarkable achievement in his young career.

The 19-year-old overcame competition from several promising talents, including Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsi, Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaire-Emery and Real Madrid’s Yan Diomande. The award recognises the best young player in world football.

Yamal’s impressive performances for Barcelona and Spain during the 2025/26 campaign strengthened his chances of retaining the individual prize. He helped Barcelona secure both the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup while contributing 24 goals throughout the season.

In La Liga, the Spanish international recorded 16 goals and 12 assists as Barcelona finished the campaign with 94 points to claim the championship. His outstanding contributions also earned him the league’s Player of the Season award.

Yamal enjoyed further success on the international stage with Spain at the 2026 World Cup. He scored his first goal in the tournament against Saudi Arabia and became the youngest player to win both the European Championship and the World Cup.

His latest Kopa Trophy adds another significant milestone to an already impressive collection of individual honours. The Barcelona forward had previously made history by becoming the award’s first two-time winner following his victories in 2024 and 2025.

Winning three Kopa Trophies before turning 20 further highlights Yamal’s remarkable development and growing influence in world football. His latest achievement comes after a season filled with domestic trophies, personal recognition and international success.

The teenager is also among the contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with the announcement of the winner expected shortly.
