According to a report by Goal on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Plateau United were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Katsina United in their Saturday Nigeria Premier Football League clash.
Plateau United started the match with the aim of securing all three points away from home, and their efforts paid off in the 30th minute when they took the lead through an own goal by Emmanuel Bakare, giving the visitors an important advantage as both teams headed into the half-time break.
The visitors returned for the second half looking to extend their lead and strengthen their chances of winning the encounter, while Katsina United tried to find a way back into the game in front of their home supporters.
Plateau United eventually doubled their advantage in the 80th minute when Jibril Ibrahimi found the back of the net, putting the visitors two goals ahead with only ten minutes remaining in normal time. At that point, Plateau United appeared to be in a strong position to claim an important away victory.
However, Katsina United refused to give up and quickly reduced the deficit just two minutes later, as Yusha'u Armiyau scored in the 82nd minute to give the home side renewed hope of getting something from the match.
The pressure continued as Katsina United pushed forward in search of an equaliser, and their determination finally paid off in stoppage time when Umar Mohammed Rabiu scored in the 93rd minute to make it 2-2, rescuing a valuable point for the hosts after they had looked set for defeat.
The final whistle confirmed a disappointing result for Plateau United, who had allowed a two-goal lead to slip away. Despite the setback, Plateau United moved to third position on the NPFL table with 15 points, while Katsina United climbed to ninth place with 13 points after their late comeback.
