According to reports published by Daily Post on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Tanzania have decided to travel to Nigeria several days before the encounter to give the players enough time to familiarise themselves with the environment. Head coach Miguel Gamondi is reportedly keen to ensure his team are adequately prepared for the difficult away fixture.
The Citizen also reported that the Tanzanian delegation will arrive in Uyo early as part of their preparations for the matchday three meeting. The decision is expected to provide the coaching staff with sufficient time to organise training sessions and work on the team's tactical plans.
Gamondi has already announced a 24-man squad for Tanzania's upcoming double-header against Nigeria. The selection features 12 players from clubs within Tanzania and another 12 footballers currently playing for teams abroad.
The mixture of domestic and foreign-based players is expected to provide the coach with different options as he prepares his team for the two important encounters. Gamondi will be looking to use the available training time to improve coordination, strengthen the team's tactical organisation and build confidence among his players.
Nigeria are scheduled to host Tanzania at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, November 13. The Super Eagles will be hoping to make their home advantage count by securing all three points and strengthening their position in the qualification campaign.
However, the Taifa Stars are unlikely to travel to Nigeria merely to make up the numbers. The visitors will be determined to deliver a competitive performance and secure a positive result that could improve their chances ahead of the return meeting.
The second encounter between both countries will take place in Dar es Salaam four days after the first fixture, giving Tanzania another opportunity to challenge Nigeria on home soil.
With two important matches scheduled within a short period, both teams will understand the significance of collecting valuable points. Tanzania's early arrival in Uyo could therefore prove beneficial as Gamondi attempts to prepare his players for the challenge posed by the Super Eagles.
