Chelsea may have a chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Senny Mayulu if PSG cannot offer him a regular first-team role, despite his recent rise in form.
A FootballTransfers report published on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, says the 20-year-old has recovered from a difficult start to the season and is increasingly showing that he can compete at the highest level of European football.
Questions about Mayulu’s future at the Parc des Princes arose earlier this year, when he entered the final year of his contract. Talks over a renewal reportedly became strained after the club and his representatives disagreed. PSG allegedly felt the player was asking for too much, while his representatives accused the club of “throwing him under the bus.”
The dispute was eventually settled, and Mayulu signed a deal keeping him at PSG until 2031. However, the new contract did not bring an immediate increase in playing time. He struggled to earn regular minutes in the early part of the 2026/27 season, and by mid-October had played just 67 minutes, prompting questions about his place in manager Luis Enrique’s plans.
Chelsea later emerged as a possible destination. Analytics firm SciSports reportedly identified Stamford Bridge as a promising setting for Mayulu’s development, especially if he were used in central midfield. Chelsea could also see him as a potential long-term successor to Enzo Fernandez, whose future at the club has been the subject of speculation.
Mayulu’s prospects at PSG have since improved after a run of strong performances. He scored against Lyon on October 26, then recorded a goal and an assist in a full 90-minute appearance against Le Havre four days later.
He continued his good form in Tuesday’s Champions League match against Villarreal, scoring during PSG’s dominant first half. French newspaper L’Équipe praised his display as a “complete performance” and noted his growing influence in the team.
Luis Enrique has also begun using the young player in more attacking roles. Instead of keeping him in midfield, the PSG coach has recently tried him as a false nine.
Mayulu’s Estimated Transfer Value is €48.3 million, with FootballTransfers estimating his market value at between €43.5 million and €53.1 million.
His recent improvement may reduce the chances of a January move, but Chelsea are expected to continue tracking his development while considering possible midfield signings.
The Blues could renew their interest if Mayulu’s playing time at PSG falls again—especially if the French champions cannot offer him the regular first-team opportunities he wants.
