Nicolas Jackson has praised Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, his teammates and the club’s supporters after scoring twice in their impressive 2-1 Premier League victory over Manchester City on Saturday.
According to a report by GOAL on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Senegal international played a decisive role in ending City’s perfect start to the league campaign while helping Villa secure their first home league win of the season.
Jackson has been in excellent form recently, finding the net six times in his last six appearances across all competitions. His brace against Pep Guardiola’s side further demonstrated his growing importance to Emery’s attacking plans.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, the striker expressed satisfaction with his performance but emphasised that scoring goals is simply part of his responsibility as a forward.
“It’s my work, so I’m very happy to do it every time,” Jackson said.
He also highlighted his desire to remain fit and continue contributing to the team’s success.
“Hopefully I’m injury-free, and then I will continue working for the coach and the team. I’m very happy that we won, and that’s the most important for me.”
Jackson’s two goals proved crucial against a Manchester City side that had won all seven of its opening Premier League fixtures. His contribution ensured Villa took maximum points in front of their home supporters.
The former Chelsea forward also spoke warmly about his relationship with Emery and the welcome he has received since arriving at the club.
Jackson previously worked with the Spanish manager at Villarreal, and their familiarity appears to have played a role in his smooth transition to Aston Villa.
“I’m very happy, you know. Most importantly, I’m very happy with the manager, with the players in the team, and the fans,” he explained.
He further praised the atmosphere within the squad and the support provided by the coaching staff.
“It’s not easy, but easier because of the coach and the players, of course. It’s an incredible dressing room, an incredible manager.”
Jackson’s comments reflect his appreciation for the environment Emery has created at Villa, while his recent performances suggest he is becoming increasingly comfortable in the team.
With six goals in his last six matches, the striker will now hope to maintain his momentum and continue playing a key role in Aston Villa’s campaign.
