According to a report by Barca Universal on Saturday November 7, 2026, Barcelona youngster Ebrima Tunkara has attracted interest from Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Everton, but the Catalan giants have no intention of allowing the highly rated academy prospect to leave.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest talents emerging from La Masia, with his impressive development attracting attention from several English clubs.
According to Mundo Deportivo, intermediaries who regularly visit Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva training complex have delivered encouraging reports about Tunkara. Their assessments have reportedly increased interest in the teenager, with Aston Villa and Everton currently leading the race among interested clubs.
Aston Villa have already had an opportunity to assess his abilities at close quarters. The Premier League side watched him in action during a UEFA Youth League encounter earlier this week. Tunkara found the net in a thrilling 3-3 draw between Barcelona's Juvenil A team and the English club.
Reports also suggest that attempts have been made to persuade the youngster to continue his development in England. However, Barcelona remain relaxed about the growing attention surrounding their academy prospect.
The Spanish giants recently secured Tunkara's future by extending his contract until 2029. The player has also shown no desire to leave the club despite the interest from England.
Born in Gambia, Tunkara joined Barcelona's youth system during the 2018/19 season. He has since established himself as one of the academy's most promising prospects.
He made his Barcelona Atletic debut in February this year at just 15 years old and has continued developing under Juliano Belletti. His performances earned him an opportunity to participate in pre-season training with Hansi Flick's first team last summer.
Following Dani Olmo's injury, Tunkara has also been training regularly with the senior squad. Barcelona therefore consider him an important part of their future plans, making a departure highly unlikely.
